DESIGN COMMUNICATION
Each of our tutorial classes will complete one of the four parts of the first assignment. Through these exercises, we improved our ability to visually convey architectural concepts like space and form.
TUTORIAL EXERCISES
T1 : GEOMETRIC EXPRESSIONS
For the first week's assignment, we had to use geometric patterns to make a somewhat complex design that would eventually form a geometric drawing.
T2 : TONAL VALUES AND RENDERING
In week 2, we learned a few hatching techniques and how important it is to control our line weight when rendering. There are also various hatching techniques, which I thought were quite fascinating.
T3 : ARCHITECTURAL LETTERING
In week 3, we learned how to write properly in an architect's style and realised the historical significance of architectural lettering, which accounts for its continued use today.
T4 : SCALE AND COLOURING MEDIA
The only exercise in our first assignment that uses colouring materials. We must produce a coloured plan with accurate scaled dimensions.
REFLECTION
This assignment enhanced whatever we had learned during our foundation. I have learned theories and mastered some of them now. Additionally, I learned how to draw a plan with the correct scale and dimensions. In summary, these exercises were exciting because they introduced us to the fundamentals of design communication.

TGCs that I have acquired are
1.1 Able to put theories into practice.
1.2 Understand professional practice within the field of study
2.1 Learn independently.
