THEORIES OF ASIAN ARCHITECTURE

Assignment 1 :

CONTEXTUAL STUDY SKETCH JOURNAL OF A TRADITIONAL STREET

The sketch journal assignment requires us to choose a traditional street from a provided list and decide on the street we will draw before starting the drawing process. Once we have selected our street, we will create a visual journal to document our observations and experiences. Through drawings, sketches, and other visual elements, we will capture our impressions, insights, and ideas related to the chosen street. This creative process encourages visual thinking, reflection, and a deeper understanding of the cultural significance, historical background, architectural features, and traditional trades or businesses found in the area. By carefully selecting our street and effectively documenting it in our visual journal, we will be able to convey its essence and tell a compelling visual story.
