ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN 1
Assignment 1 : GEOMETRY AND FORM: ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN ELEMENTS & PRINCIPLES
For the first assignment, we are exploring how to translate and interpret our ideas using various architectural expressions and design principles. Our task is to create a model using two essential components and one design principle. After that, we must convert them from 3D objects to diagrams.
PART 1,2 and 3
For points, I am trying to use sharp edges to represent as points from my understanding.
For lines, I am designing the model to look like it has many lines when viewed from elevation.
For plane, I am trying to create volumes to show that planes are everywhere, so I used cubes to represent them.
Finally, I combined the three primary elements I utilised with my rhythm-based design principle. When viewed from the front, it appears to be a large cube with a mirrored pyramid in the centre that also leaves a space between it to display lines at the back.
Part 4: My plan, top view, section, and elevation, along with four tattoo stamps, have all been drawn and rendered.
REFLECTION
In the first assignment, I enhanced my knowledge by exploring the three primary elements of the design phase. When our task is to analyse and synthesise the key components and design principles for our final model, the design process is quite interesting. Additionally, when designing the form of the model I will be making, I must use critical and creative thinking. Finally, I believe it is crucial to follow the tutor's guidance and eventually put his theory into practice.

TGCs that I have acquired are
1.1 Able to put theories into practice.
3.1 Think critically and creatively.
2.2 Locate, extract, synthesise and utilise information effectively.
